We leave the hotel around noon towards Neuville airport. We take time for a full check our machines, we are granted by a surprise visit Gregory (Baisy-Thy former pilot now living in Quebec) surrounded by his family.

A superb low-pass over the runway to greet our friends and we set heading direction of Saint Hyacinthe, one of only two Canadian bases with a large bath of water for seaplanes along a beautiful paved runway.

Bernard and Julie, school owners for DPM, reserved a special welcome and offers us to stay at the airfields clubhouse for the night. First flight on DPM for VL3 pilots and first flight in VL3 for DPM pilots …. a nice exchange everyone is happy.

We meet Mario and his spouse Lynn. Philippe Bonnet, provided us with all the necessary information for our next arrival at Oshkosh and the use of Foreflight. We spent a memorable time with Bernard and Julie …. again many thanks to all.

  2. Hi folks,

Super hot weather in Italy, but no flying for me unfortunately, left all the gear at home so I can spend all the time for the family. So seeing the picture pilot family is everywhere. Nice view of the plane bath, rather tiny (?!) for personal use….

Getting closer to Oshkosh, tension rising….? Be carefull upon arrival, will Be bussy there but I am sure that you will make it upon you slottime.

That’s all for now, enjoy the ride.

  3. What a wonderful journey, thank you for posting your progress on your blog. I look forward to reading about your entry into the U.S. and your arrival at Oshkosh!

    Cheers!
